Nerdfighteria

I'm proud to be a Nerdfighter for many many reasons. The greatest reason is because of the fantastic community that comes with it. I met on wednesday my newest friend and my first IRL nerdfighter. Literally an hour after meeting we were mutually squee-ing about the movie version of The Fault In Our Stars that is coming At Some Point.

Seriously, in the middle of a crowded supermarket. Then she watched me and our other two friends eat a barbecue potato chip chocolate bar. (She just moved to our area from England, so it was kind of a "welcome to America" moment) Unfortunately, barbecue potato chip chocolate is hugely nasty.

Of course, the internet is where Nerdfighteria is primarily based. I mean, just do a quick google search! I've personally not gotten much out of the nerdfighter ning (although I do have a profile).

I surprisingly find my fellow nerdfighters on GifBoom. Yes, it's pretty much instagram with gifs, and the #nerd hashtag does have a LOT of "nerds" and hipsters-who-think-they're-nerds. But I've found that I am not the only nerdfighter on GifBoom. Plus I started my own hashtag (#realnerds) to differentiate from said "nerds" and hipsters-who-think-they're-nerds.

I Frickin' Miss Potato.

Potato and I hung out on Google+ (go join it's cool) for like three hours yesterday, until she had to eat dinner, and I realized it was it was 3 pm and i hadn't eaten breakfast. Time zones are confusing/

This made us realize, that this was the first time we had talked face to face (albeit from across the country) since her 13th birthday.

My mom, Jayne, and me flew out to State That I Used To Live In, and hung out with our friends. And then we totally surprised her by sneaking into her bedroom and throwing balloons at her. She didn't even know we were coming. It was pretty epic.

You see, she's turning fifteen in like two weeks.

Potato, I miss yoooooooooooouuuu!

I hope we get to hang out more.

p.s we need to properly see each other soon, so i can poke you.

My Friends Are Awesome: Exhibit A

I should point out that Out of State is also a Girl Scout. She just lives in the same state as Potato.

(If you don't watch football, this is what I was talking about.)

13-15: Eject the Frog!

So I have these two wonderful friends, Edison, and Dragonchild*,  and every Wednesday, we play a game:

Any time you think of a funny quote you say it.
Some of the best and funniest are things that we've said, rather than things from books and movies, as was originally intended.

From left: Dragonchild, Edison, Me. (On the far left you can see Alison, who is seven I think.)

"You blew my mustache off!"

"Oh dear, Mom's in the root-beer!"

"My bubble! It came un-bubbled!"

"The heavens opened and gave them a shower, which they did not particularly need." (This one was cut from one of their NaNos.)

"Do you think you could use a high heel to break down a wall?"

"Dude, your browser's on the ceiling..."

"Oh, I'm failing miserably. How about you?"

"It means, 'Hi! I'm you!' in Finnish."

These guys are my boyzzzz. They're  totally awesome, and if I had brothers, I'd want them to be exactly like Edison and Dragonchild.

*Quite obviously not their real names.

15-15: Today

In fifteen days, I will be fifteen years old. This is awesome.

So I've decided to do a countdown, and share something special every day until my birthday.
Here you go,  #15 in the 15-15 countdown:

One of my best friends in the world and I started a band once, when we were 12 and 13. It was called Forever Odd, and our first album would be called The View From My Umbrella.  Here's the lyrics for the first song we made:

Today
by Forever Odd...
Do, do, do, do
What are we
Gonna do today
The sky is rainy
The clouds are grey
Nothing to do
Nothing to play
Do, do, do, do
What are we
Gonna do today
We can’t stay in
We can’t go out
There’s just no way
Nothing to do
Nothing to say
Do, do, do, do
What are we
Gonna do today

Maybe it's not Grammy worthy, and it's definitely not finished, but we were so proud when we recorded it into Jette's sister's laptop, and even happier when she told us it was great.

A Wish (A letter to a boy)

"How do you know when you're in love?"
"All the songs make sense."
--Castle and Beckett in Castle (which is an amazing tv show)

I used to think that maybe, if we were meant to be together, some deep force of fate would pull us together. But how can fate bring us together if we don't admit to one another how we feel?

I LOVE YOU.

I had a dream we were married. We had two kids, and we were so happy together.
But that can't be a reality if you never know.

I guess I'm not a secret admirer anymore (Except that you don't read this blog), but that's ok.
When I'm around you, I feel like there's a herd of dragons in my stomach, and that I might sprout wings and fly at any second.

Everything I know is flipped upside down, because it's so easy to be with you.

I love you. Even when I tried to tell myself that you aren't ready to love me back, I do. I can't help it. You're just so amazing.

Forever and always,

Lady Elisabeth

Do me a favor...

I must say, I have never done this before, so if my posts are crap, sorry.

Recently, I lost one of my best friends in the world.

We had an argument, and she decided that our three years as nearly sisters were over.
I cried for three weeks waiting to hear from her.

Do me a favor:

If you don't want to be friends with someone anymore, tell them.
Just go email them, facebook them, call them, text them, or best of all, talk to them face to face.
Seriously, all I'm asking is that you have enough courtesy and courage to be honest, instead of letting them believe that  it can still be fixed.
